Connecting with Angels and Spirit Guides
I was reading your facinating web site and I decided to try to contact my guides or just "tune in" a bit and althought I did not get much of a response(as I guessed because I have never tried this before)and it seems now that I am quite tired and exhausted, mind and body wise and a bit queasy. I was wondering if there is any corelation or if anyone has felt this way after trying to contact a guide or if it is just me... Thanx, Lisa
Lisa, I encourage you to continue trying... the fatigue and queaziness is
an indication that "something" was happening... my sense is that the
aftereffects were as much a message from your guides as any other form of
direct communications might be... (that is the trick with this work, our
guides communicate with us in many ways, not necessarily in images and
words... it is important to pay close attention during such
communications)... through the aftereffects, they are saying to you that you
need to do a little preparation work to set the stage so you can make the
connection... for example, I avoid alcohol when I want to make a direct
connection... it is important to be well-rested, to eat naturally - ie no
processed or fast foods, avoid sugars, a balanced diet and life are
essential to getting clear balanced communications with your guides... then
before I start the work, I am careful to ground myself, to drink a big glass
of water and to have water nearby to drink throughout the session... and
then I start to breathe deeply, and I focus on my breath while calling on"the Highest energy available to me today"... I visualize myself surrounded
in a bubble of pink and green light - the colours of Divine Love, actively
invoking this energy for healing and protection during the session. You may
also find that working with crystals will help you make a clear connection.
I have had similar experiences to yours when I was searching for missing
persons... the result of having to work through some very dark heavy energy
in order to bring in the Light... so the next message for you, direct from
your guides is to work on your attitude, to release your fears and negative
thoughts.... to embrace your dark side, your "bad guy", get to know yourself
on a deeper level, to really get into creation philosophy... try the
Conversations with God series if you haven't already... you hit upon some
internal blocks that you were obviously trying to work through, otherwise
you wouldn't have felt ill afterwards... but the illness says that you don't
have the tools yet to be able to do the work you were trying to do...so"take it on" - notice the places in you where you are judgmental of yourself
and others and start releasing these... this will make it a lot easier to
make the connections.
Finally, a word to the wise... when we start making these soul connections,
ego gets very fearful because it means that we will begin to shift and
change attitudes and beliefs, and this can end up displacing the ego... so
some of the aftereffects were about your ego manifesting its fears around
the work you are doing... you can talk to your ego, explain that at the end
of the day when you connect with your soul, you are helping all of your
aspects, including your ego...

Hi, just wanted to ask you about connections to angels as I had a fantastic experience a few days ago. I lay meditating and asked for connection to an angel, before I finished asking I was flooded with a very bright golden light and couldn't breath for a few seconds.Then when I had caught my breath the hole of my body was tingling with energy, this continued for about 45 mins until I was ready to finish meditating. Since this experience I have decided to become a healer. Do you think this was the message I was supposed to recieve? what happened to me? A Quick thanks also. Up until about two years ago I was a screaming alchoholic and drug addict and reading articles on your site really helped me gain a new perspective on life the universe and everything. How can I open the channel to my guide? We have met about 300 years ago (?). Now I have heard him on a distance of 2 meters, 2 years ago, when he gave me important information, but today I cannot find the way. He has more to tell me! John
You are hearing that he has important information for you. What is happening is that the means by which your communication is happening is evolving- the way that you heard the information in the past may not be the way that you hear it now, or in the future. So, the only roadblock has been that you were expecting to hear it just like you heard it before, and now you are aware that it's trying to come through, but because it's not happening the same way, you're thinking there's a problem. So, change your mind about it- and just listen. I can feel that the communication is readily available for you- just sit and know. The route that it's coming through is much more of a "knowing"- more telepathic, so to speak. If you sit down today and just reach your mind out to your friend, you will connect with him. Sit down with confidence that all you need to do is pick up the phone. That's the ticket! Have fun! Barb
Can you help me? I am looking for help by how to contact my Spirit Guides. I have trouble with contacting my Guides. The Spirit Guides don't talk to me I don't know why. I know from a friend who is also a Spiritual believer that he told me that I have Spirit Guides but they just don't talk to me. How can I contact them and why they don't talk to me? Kathrin, We all have Spirit Guides, but most of us grew up learning not to listen quietly and without expectation- and most of also grew up learning not to trust what we can not see and touch. So, most of us have to re-learn how to listen. And learn how to listen without putting out expectations about what we will hear.
If we are looking for guidance about an issue that we have strong feelings about, we need to be able to set aside our hopes and fears as we listen so as not to cloud the airwaves with our thoughts and feelings. You can practice listening by meditating. If you have not meditated before, look for our simple instructions on the site about how to get started.
Most larger towns have meditation groups that you can get involved in as well- and even smaller towns have individuals interested in meditation who get together informally. Practicing with a group can be a great learning experience, as you share your experiences and learn together what works and what gets in the way. Warmly, Barb
I just have a question about spirtit guides. Are spirit guides the same as Guardian Angels? I'm a fairly relgious person, though I don't believe everything the priests say, so I"m just wondering if there is any connection between the two. Marie
Spirit guides come in all shapes, sizes and labels. I have my spirit guides
whom I feel are native most of the time.. But when I receive different
kinds of messages they may come from any of my guides.. Some in angel form
and others like fairies.. Trust that your angels are your guides and you
will open yourself to the messages they are trying to send you.. It will
keep you in your beliefs and
just walk with you hand in hand.. I too have strong spiritual beliefs and
was raised Roman Catholic..
It is not that I choose to not believe in my religion.. It is that I wish to
extend it to allow spirit to guide me in all ways possible..

Hi! My experience with Spirit Guides, Angels, and Guardian Angels during my
Higher Self communication sessions has been something like this:
Spirit Guides are souls like us who have been through incarnations, and are"working their way up" into greater wisdom and love in practice. They have attained enough wisdom and loving ability that they have begun to assist others during their incarnations, and between incarnations, as loving guides who are intimately aware of what we are doing; they are our personal trainers, our mentors, and in some ways, our "supervisors", just as we will have a supervisor on our job who is also still growing and learning, but with the responsibility of overseeing others' work and assisting those people in growing in their skill.
Angels are beings of High Loving Energies who have generally not incarnated; their role is to assist in creation in their own ways; they can inform, inspire, heal, etc. They may come because we call for help in one way or another, or someone else calls for help for us, or, they may be on the lookout for people needing a certain kind of help, and drop in to assist. When I connect with them, they are "larger than life" in a way that Spirit Guides are not, although I've met Guides who are certainly incredibly awe-inspiring and "HUGE" in their love and/or wisdom. Generally, also, I've not seen Guides intervene the way I've seen Angels intervene. Guides sit back and coach, and are available for support and guidance. Angels are there to come to our aid spiritually, energetically. And Guardian Angels have agreed to look after a certain individual or individuals, to protect and assist them in the ways described above.
In practice, everyone helping is amazing, and so clearly defining these is
not the most important thing. The most important thing is to know that help
is there in many forms, as many as you need or desire. What a blessing it
is to have Angels, and Guides, AND, friends, family, and the beautiful souls
that are ourselves.

From some of our reading readings, apparently, there are also angels whose
assignment is task oriented - meaning, angels that work with single women,
or financial
problems or whatever the issue is for a short period of time. Guardian
angels and guides are assignments to you for life, but angels can come and
go depending on the requirement. Anyway.....that's just a little bit more.
