2002, A Busy Year, A Year to Endure

A note about our process: Each year, Mary-Anne and I produce our annual predictions by reading together as a team. We each lay out our own reading and "take the floor" for a period with insights from the cards in front of us. Often what one sees in one reading is amplified or described in more detail in the other, so as we each share what we see in front of us, a rather complete and cohesive picture is produced. When we have finished taking notes in this way, we "spin the globe", literally. When the globe stops, we focus on it for a second and usually something will pop out at us. We keep spinning the globe until we see nothing new jumping out at us. I then take all of our notes and transcribe them... as I tap into our work and the universal mindstream on which we draw for the predictions, new insights or more detail may come on what we initially gathered. The final result is what you see here.
This was another of those years when getting down to preparing and posting the annual predictions was more than a little challenging... there was always something else that needed to be done... but then that would be typical for a Horse year.

In Numerology, 2002 is a "4" year, a foundation year, a year of deal-making, a time when we will see controls tightening at every level of our existence. This is a time when war-making is on many people's minds, and the exercise of authority, the use of power will be determined, resolute - and probably challenged.
Many folks will have the sense of walking between worlds - could be an interesting year for stories of UFO's and extra-terrestrials.
There is also a lot of talk these days about the fact that the Vatican is watching the skies, seem to be watching for some sort of sign in the heavens????
This year, we are prone to accidents, catastrophes, and to making devastating mistakes... imprisonments for the wrong reasons - or on false pretenses. This is a year to endure, to stay firm in your purpose, to exercise the power of your will.
If you are diligent and committed, you can stay the course, and open the door to realizing your dreams... you can feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the year, given that you are disciplined and prepared to put your back into your efforts. This isn't a year for slackers!
2002, One of a Series of Transformational Years
We are in the midst of a transformational process here on our planet, a time when things are changing, as we speak... I doubt though, that these are the end times, I don't think the planet goes up in smoke or some such. Still, it would be exceptionally arrogant to ignore the fact that something BIG is up and the world is taking on a new face.You could say that we are all living at "Ground Zero" right now. The rubble of the past world is falling at our feet and the future world that will be formed in its place is not yet imagined. We shall have to wait for the birthing process to complete before we can really get a good look at the new face we shall wear as a species and a planetWe're in the throes of massive global changes, an ongoing, inescapable process. The Birth of a New Age doesn't complete itself in a simple nine month cycle. In retrospect, we will see that the opening years of the New Millennium blend into each other and become part of the same "story". As psychics, we find that we are looking into a "clump of years" – it is hard to read each one separately. We see the energy in motion, chaotic almost. We see what probabilities exist in the "fall-out" of the energy as it propels us all forward. But it is hard to see exactly which events will actually manifest when.
Tones of the Times
General Trends
For 2002, we see a year of inevitable surprises – we know they are coming, yet they still take us by surprise. We see folks feeling a lot of anxiety around the future, people sensing danger ahead. There is a feeling of desperation for some folks. It will not be an easy year to work on personal dreams – everything is moving too quickly.
We see some tragic event transpiring before the end of winter, by early spring latest, an event that will upset the apple cart - again. We also see significant technical or missile failures attached to the war efforts, as the war machine continues to gear up around the globe.
There could be a new male on the global front, a powerful visionary, a new world leader, probably coming from Europe. The Anti-Christ Arises? This should be a strong year economically in Europe… The Euro-dollar continues to gain strength, performs well, despite initial anxieties. – Note that this development fits with the biblical end times prophesies… Rome rising again – the old Roman provinces re-uniting.
July, August, September may see the significant changes of the year. It could be in August when the US enters a new field of battle, or is invaded in some way – perhaps with bio warfare.At home, we see more and more a return to family values – or being pushed out of the nest…
We will see a continued surge in home improvements, home decorating and products associated with "nesting." Many folks will spend their travel budgets on home, or close to home this year.It could be a year for inspired marriages, folks finding their soul mates, lots of love and romance… and lots of moving around… the moving business may find things picking up…
We'll be taking shorter trips, with the emphasis on local travel. This will probably be a year of holding back for individuals, folks biding their time…
Notes On the Weather Front - Hot Spots
We see a hot dry year, storm watching every month, especially in the spring seasons. Volcanic activity is strong in the Pacific, there appears a huge explosion from the Ocean floor. (This is something we have been seeing now for several years.)
There are some serious problems in the Pacific Ocean… el nino, again, wild life and sea life at greater risk than ever…The Philippines appears as a major focus, not only because of the level of terrorist activity, but because of environmental issues – the gods of the Philippines angry with what the country is doing???
Australia is again suffering from climate problems, fires, drought.
There is also something developing in the High Arctic, some sort of joint venture will be announced between the US and Russia to deal with the problem… perhaps also including Canada.
There is another earthquake in Japan, rather serious, more to come.
Asian problems become more marked, currency scandals may develop. Especially in the US, too much money printed, something being falsely propped up. A gold scandal?
About Conditions in Europe:
It will not be the winter that you expect. And it will be one of discontent, discontent with the current order. The Awakening and questioning continues. Human consciousness is mirrored in the Earth and Her processes. In Love Gaia
I am seeing a winter that is generally more mild than some in recent years - for some - unfortunately, I feel that fast warming and chilling, up and downs of temperatures could cause some severe problems in the mountainous regions, avalanches and such... I am also seeing one blinding storm that stalls everything, but I believe this affects only a few countries, as opposed to blanketing Europe... France seems definitely affected by this storm...water seems to be the problem for the Netherlands, too much or too little... and that is kind of the pattern everywhere... severe weather in pockets... coastlines again ravaged - especially around the Mediterranean.
Mostly I feel a general sense of unease... the transition to a new currency speaks for the transition that is occurring politically and many are suspicious underneath the surface of calmness and acceptance. - folks looking for something more than currency to unite them, others feeling a bit rebellious but uncertain what to do about it, or even why they are uncomfortable... something is brewing under the surface here, the more I look at it... it isn't pretty whatever I am seeing, an ugly dark dragon, that stinks, is putrid and foul, ghoulish.... perhaps this is about an environment that is becoming more noticeably sick, or about a war that is brewing that will disturb everyone... or both... whatever it is, it seems to affect the entire continent of Europe...
We shall see.
Gold is the best investment! We will see gold rise in price quite significantly as the year progresses.… We have been privately encouraging our clients for some time now to divest themselves of their stock market assets and to liquefy as much as possible - and we have specifically mentioned gold... This has been posted on the site also with our predictions both for What Next after 911 - and in our 2001 predictions... some stocks will be OK, but... it might be safest to be completely out of the market... property, resources, metals, art, gems, these will all increase in value over the coming years.... and so also will technology... but there is a big BIG shake up coming before things can settle down... in the meantime, we'll see continued growth in security-related investments, military spending, steel... the good news is that I feel a lot of new jobs will be created in the next few years, particularly in government and security-related fields, manufacturing. And believe it or not in environmental industries...
Spending on the environment will be forced and is coming very quickly now... you see, all along, what I have seen is that as the fight takes hold of the globe, Mother Earth responds with a series of environmental disasters that could - with the fighting - put almost the entire globe into a tailspin... a tremendous amount of chaos to be unleashed in the next few years, so beware...Recession conditions continue. Economic reports are initially hopeful, but the truth is, profits and production are declining world-wide, and in almost every industry. Many attempts are made to bolster the sagging economy, we try and try and try again. Sadly, this isn't the story of the Little Train That Could. A lot is spent on getting things back to previous levels, but industry is still suppressed, the public still shy. We end the year more anxious than ever about our personal and global prosperity.
We see instability around air travel in general – not from terrorist activity but mechanical problems, issues like finding stow-aways. "Murphy's Law" takes hold in the travel and tourism business and the industry continues to see declines, bankruptcies among well-known players.
Some of the staid industries, like insurance, utilities, some of the blue chip companies, begin breaking down, but under the surface… insurance business hangs in but rates continue to rise as more and more pay-outs are required – many of them weather-related.
The stock market will be "strange", periods when things appear to be improving, but there are very real dangers lurking. At the end of the day, people are playing it safe.
Money will be asked for health care in all parts of the world. We see a scandal in Canada, perhaps already brewing, may be about health care, the two-tiered system continues to rear its ugly head…
The war machine is moving into a higher gear as the year progresses… they will ask for more funding, battles are moving into different regions… the Middle East Hot Spot spreads, takes more and more of our attention, and the battle begins to get mean. …. A false victory is declared… war gets incrementally worse… uglier, but gradually, over a period of a few years.
Osama could be dead – he appears to have been disempowered, cut off from many of his resources. But there still appears to be surrounding him a loyal following. He is not brought to justice, at least not this year, nor found. And while he may have been pushed deeply underground, he has allies that will help him to maintain at least a semblance of power. I feel that he and his henchmen have not had their final word. They expected the US to come after them.New alliances will be formed in the fight against terrorism, but are not to be trusted. There could be a close call around bio-warfare. – but a lot of anxiety there may prove to be unfounded. Yet there are insidious methods of warfare exploited now, we can't stop being fearful – much of it appears to be a psychological game, with the media being used unwittingly.Attention is refocused on Iraq. And we are wary of relations between Pakistan and India.
We again warn of China's dark role in the upcoming conflicts. We see them active in the background of the troubles brewing, clearly stirring the pot…
There could be an assassination attempt on Bush late in the year. North America could be dealing with power shortages in some parts of the country again- we see general problems with utilities.
Weather extremes, but more drought.
The sense is that "The countdown is on…"
We are very concerned about economic recovery, it is just not happening. We hear a lot of analysis, but no decisions… We just can't figure out why things aren't working the way they "should.".There seems to be something in the works this year in the field of technology that a few years from now could see a resurgence of tech stocks. The Web gets a lot more attention; we see more and more consumers searching for information.…
Growth is steady, especially in retail sales.
Still. some folks are experiencing real losses in 2002. Many people are looking back, feeling their lives have been changed irrevocably. We fear that we will never return to the "good old days".
There are still some big shocks coming, especially in the world of finance… we are witnessing the end of a cycle, but folks don't get it, we need to look at new ways but folks hang on to the old ways.
Around the globe, we see whole populations on the move. Individually, we are more transient than usual.
The Summary
2002 is a very fast year, and we end it still waiting for the other shoe to drop. Yet there is strength in some places… especially where we are determined and willing to work at establishing strong foundations.
Running for the hills, all the survivalist stuff, will only help in a few rare instances – the changes coming cannot be escaped. As far as I can see, the best way to protect oneself will be to tend to the inner work, to get clean and clear, to avoid judgment, to stay in a most loving frame of mind... I saw Deepak Chopra on TV recently, he said it best - in summary, "every moment we must fill our minds with loving, nurturing thoughts - only then can we be safe..."
We will need to be very strong in the next months and years... many prayers will help...
