- how will the prophesies unfold?

A note about the 2000 vibration - it is beginning to show itself in shortages as in the oil shortage, the shortage of flu vaccine for this flu season. It may seem coincidence but the 0's in 2000 shows an absence of things. It's only through cooperation, the 2 vibration, that things will get done. The 2 also represents conflict which will be the challenge to avoid.

How will the events of 2000, a "2" year, the year of the Fire-Breathing Golden Dragon, shape the opening moments to this much-awaited time?

A Time of Grace,
  a Time for Loving

I wonder if we have been caught up in so much drama around this New Age transformation that we are searching for some BIG signs, and will ultimately be disappointed.

Although I think  the Grand Cross of ‘99 and the alignment of May 5, 2000 are significant signs and deserve to be noted, there is indeed something shifting here, I don't necessarily think we need a knock on the head like a meteor falling out of Comet Lee's trail to force us to notice that times are changing...  (On the other hand, there are whispers coming out of the Vatican that such an event could occur in the next year...)

Whether or not you have noticed it, we are experiencing dramatic shifts in weather. This year the earth will shake rattle and roll and there are likely to be some pretty nasty water and food shortages and other problems manifest as a result... This is the year of the dragon, a fire year, so we can expect volcanic activity to be extremely high - and it's alredy started.... we've had more volcanoes erupt in the first six months of the year than we have in the last many years. There's enough evidence to me, right here on planet earth, right in front of our noses that things are changing, that I don't think it's really necessary to have something terrible happen around these potent portents....

The Signs and the Prophets tell us there will be a rapid acceleration of the transformation to a New Age and a New Millennium; as the year progresses - things may move so quickly, we cannot even notice what has happened until we look back.... And if "nothing" remarkable occurs, I will give thanks that perhaps we are learning to maneuver our way through these changing times with some grace...

Indeed, these are exciting moments... and each of us will have front row seats on one of the most phenomenal events in planet earth's history... we all must remember to stay in our loving ways, mindful and observant, as opposed to fearful... be awake to the fact that the astrological signs, the Grand Cross of ‘99 and the alignment of May 5, 2000 are "portentous" as opposed to ominous. It is unlikely that we will see any massive shifts until long after these signs have passed us by. These signs tell us to be awake to our choice right now.... ALL of the prophecies speak to the choice that must be made at this time... it is the choice between light and dark, the choice between growing into love and staying stuck in our fears... I pray that we are all up to the job.

Get Home, Get Real, and Get Into Loving

If we're awake and alert to what's going on around us, we can avoid a lot of the fall-out, and maybe even have a good time observing the Big Event from the stands. 

While some folks may deal with these times by stocking up on dry goods and water and heading for the hills, I think the only way to really protect oneself at this time is to start living from our hearts, to take responsibility for our creations, to be honest about our values, fears and needs... to get "home", real, and into loving - ourselves and others.

This will be the time to stand back from our judgments, to search for purpose and meaning in every event that affects our lives, and to respond with all the love we can muster... Best wishes and Lotsa LLLove, Danielle

2000 - A Year of Grace, a Time for Romance and Prosperity

Did you hear that collective sigh of relief when Y2K came and went without a global disaster? The whole year will have that tone to it - much ado about nothing... a lot of noise, a lot of fear, all for naught. But beware... we got through Y2K because a lot of folks put in a lot of long hours behind the scenes, ensuring that the problems would be minimal. By the same token, it will take a lot of "behind the scenes" work, to make the most of these times and avoid some of the traumas we see around the middle of the next decade.

Gilles describes exactly this scenario in his update:

2000, so far, gives all the indications of being THE most intense, growth producing year ever seen by humanity. Lately, I have been swamped by desperate calls from people who are facing their worst fears, people whose ‘stable’ marriages are falling apart, people who are faced with financial ruin, and people who are going through crisis after crisis. Illness, deaths, suicides, all part of the pattern. Is this the end of the world? Probably, at least as we know it. People are checking out left and right. Cancer, suicide, AIDS, stroke, car crash, you name it. I see and sense pain in passerby’s faces like never before. The stress is mounting exponentially.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for people to hang on, especially if they have not spiritual understanding of the process. Those of us who are maintaining some clarity most of the time, are being faced with the same challenges. But, at least, we have are open to support and to receiving knowledge intuitively and this is making the difference between life and death. Those who have committed to growth 24 hours a day are surviving and evolving at an amazing rate. We must hang on to the determination to face the storm, and to heal any and all the issues we need to come out the other end as a victor. Many if not most of the others will probably not make it through this one, the fastest moving evolutionary quantum leap in history. Gilles

BTW, technically, the new millennium and the next decade won’t actually begin until Jan 1, 2001. This sense of being "on the edge" - at both the end and the beginning - will prevail throughout the year.

General Trends:

• Romance, partnerships and relationships are highlighted this year, signaled both by the Fire-breathing Dragon and the energy of the number "2"... and with this 2 followed by three "0"’s, we have inspired romance and partnerships, a time when soul mates can find each other more easily, a time also when each of us is challenged to define, reassess and affirm our personal values.
• Women are more powerful this year... we see at least three strong women playing respected roles on the global political front. Most women should find this an easier year to get that promotion, or otherwise push forward with their careers - and the feminine creative energy will support new creative ventures..
• More and more of us will feel somehow "called" to some spiritual work, or at least to find work we can love. More and more of us will experience what could be called an awakening, a quickening or moments of Cosmic or Christ Consciousness... paranormal activity, psychic or mediumistic ability. Magical powers may spontaneously "erupt" in folks who have previously had no interest, exposure or experience. Oct 31 Update: I have been shocked this year at the number of folks who have come for counsel after having a moment of Cosmic Consciousness... the number of inquries about paranormal activity has at least quadrupled in the past year!
• Economically, we will feel this time as an opening to a boom period. The average person will find that they have more disposable income...  it is easier to find work that pays well. Stores will find it is harder to keep their shelves stocked, as the demand for goods and services increases with the greater general prosperity.
• Rising gas and oil prices, rising commodity prices, problems with crops, flooding, plagues of both disease and pests will hit the headlines. This is a trend we have been seeing for the last few years - and we again remind folks to learn to be more self-sustaining, grow your own foods, make when you can avoid buying... otherwise, the extra cash coming in the door will be going out as fast - or faster- than it came in. Oct 31 Update: When we first saw the trend to increased gas and oil prices two years ago, it showed as an increase in their profits, so I am not convinced that the entire price increase we are seeing now is a result of market conditions. I feel there is some unusual profit-taking going on right now, stock-piling of reserves for some hidden reasons... it's as if there's some hidden fingers in this pie, forcing prices up...   Watch prices continue to rise for the next few years... and for the economy to take a nose dive by the end of next year as a result.
• A good year for the real estate agents who have suffered through most of the last decade. Property values seem to be increasing in most parts of the world, and more folks are in the mood to buy and sell.
• Joint ventures continue to be favoured, partnerships will flourish, but only where values and objectives are clearly in sync, and sound operating principles and ethical values are in place in the venture..

Around the World

While we don’t see major wars erupting at this time, we see an escalation of terrorist activity, and a build-up of tensions that could lead to major conflicts by the middle of the next decade. Small - and very ugly - battles in Africa, in South-East Asia and around the borders of Russia. Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and China, The Philippines and Indonesia, Japan, Korea and Taiwan all showing as areas of unrest, especially driven by the young... the student populations still demanding change, and unsatisfied with the answers.

The Metal Dragon also speaks to advancements in technology and this energy is supported with this also being the birth of the time of Aquarius, a sign typically associated with technology. We should see some interesting advancements in the field of technology... The automotive industry will begin to excite us with some new designs in the the next few years, and a greater emphasis on safety and respect for the environment.

Most exciting will be some of the advancements in the field of medicine. Gene therapy may produce some new treatments which may allow whole limbs to be transplanted. We are seeing some interesting announcements for Alzheimer's sufferers, for those afflicted by Multiple Sclerosis and from some bi-polar disorders. We have also been consistently seeing some major advancements in the treatment of diabetes. It is likely that both a cure and a significant advancement in treatment, eliminating the need for needles,  will be announced within the next few years.

Other newsbits from around the world...

• Too bad, Hilary Clinton might better have spent her time and money getting back into private practice. Her bid for the job in New York was doomed to failure the day she first tried to join her husband on the podium as part of the Presidential team. She had best retire from the political arena, at least for this lifetime, she just won’t gain the trust of the American people. What's interesting here is that the energy indicates that if she would divorce Bill, she'd have a better shot at the job.  As it stands though, she is perceived as too weak, riding on her husband's popularity... New Yorkers have always gotten behind the working man when all is said and done, so look for a representative of the average New Yorker to win this election.
• AIDS reaches crisis stages in many African countries, but unfortunately the breakthroughs we expected last year seem to have become bottlenecked somewhere, shelved or set aside, and we don’t see any real help appearing on this scene for at least another year.
• Food distribution may be a serious problem in some parts of the world and we continue to see spot shortages in some commodities, with crops like wheat and rice suffering the most. Oil and gas prices continue to rise in most parts of the world; fish and seafood products are scarce and there appears to be a global scare - some foods are tainted. (Interesting that since this was written, there have been numerous scares in Canada about bad water....)
• In Canada, we see Chretien reaching the end of his career, preparing to announce his retirement... there is the sense of some private reason for this announcement... unfortunately, we still don’t see a strong leader coming up behind him. If he decides to run again, it will be because of the weakness in the opposition, but he will be pushed out of office before completing his term - he will retire from the P.M.'s office. Oct 31 Update: hmm... so he called another election, seeing himself and his party in a strong position... we predict another term for Chretien, but the election will take a little of the wind out of his sails - he'll be surprised at the strength of the opposition. 
• The big battle in the US election will be between Gore and Bush.. We do not feel strongly about any of the players, Gore feels "tired" - as if the American people want a change and perceive him as too much a Clinton look-alike, but Bush feels like a really bad bet, something unsavoury in the background here, but we may just be picking up on the karmic energy he carries.. In any case, he and Hilary suffer from the same problem - the American people just won't trust them.  the winner of this election, will, in the end, win by default, in effect. When we were asked to name the winner late last fall, we said that the winner hadn't entered the race yet... so it wouldn't surprise me to see a new player enter the race at the last minute.... unfortunately he will not have enough support to pull it off and the race will be tight beteen Gore and Bush, with Bush likely leading the way at the end of the day, buy a hair... if Bush takes office, the American people should be warned to gear up for tough times ahead. Oct 31 Update - well Nader entered the race - I was looking for a dark horse... and he has more support thatn anyone has given him credit for... unfortunately, becuase the media have pretty much ignored him, I doubt that most Americans will take his candidacy seriously... I am sad to say, but I think Bush will take it and the US will be involved, as expected, in a major war by the year 2003... he is the appropriate leader, given what I see coming.
• All eyes will be on Sydney, Australia this year, and while the fear of terrorist activity is real, we feel the real threat will come from the environment. For some time we have felt a build-up of energy around Australia - perhaps the effects of the melt-down in Antarctica are being felt, but given the number of letters we’ve had from visitors about a tidal wave in that area around the time of the Olympic Games, we have to say, be wary... This would appear to be the result of a volcanic eruption - or a series of them - occurring deep in the midst of the Pacific. Oct 31 Update: I am happy to say that our fears there were unrealized... except that this year's flu seems to be soruced from a virus in Australia and a number of folks have already taken seriously ill from it... we are still conserned about a sense of unrest under the Pacific ocean....
• News of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions comes from the Mediterranean, with Greece and Italy hit, and continued activity in Turkey. North America is shocked by unexpected activity along the eastern coasts. Storms continue battering the coastlines of all countries... parts of China, India and Europe showing as seas of oozing mud... for some folks it may indeed feel like the end of world is upon us. Oct 31 Update: I don't recall eharing of any earthquakes in the countries specified... but I didn't watch carefully... the weather did prove to be as awful as expected, and there were a number of serious floods in China, India and Europe - the UK just was hit with a couple of extremely rare tornadoes... the winter won't be easy for many people!

Yet, we prosper, the stock markets seem to stabilize, there are signs of growth and increased abundance.... so be awake, and you will make the most of these generous moments. You can avoid the traumas of this birthing time, if you're alert to the signals, prepared to be flexible - and to move quickly! A New Age is upon us, and with it comes a time of chaos and confusion as we find our feet.  So, lie low, do your work and enjoy the good things that life can offer at this time.... Oct 31 Update: The stock market has been as erratic and frightening for some as it has ever been known to be... yet the trend is towards a stabilizing, a shaking down of inflated values without a breakdown of the entire market... this trend will continue for about another year.  However the shake up this fall, was I believe, just a tune up - a warning - for what will come next fall.
