2012, Another Y2K?
Dec 21, 2012- the end, the beginning, or just another year????

The date December 21st, 2012 A.D. (13.0.0.0.0 in the Long Count), represents an extremely close conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator (Equator of the Milky Way) and the Ecliptic (path of the Sun), what that ancient Maya recognized as the Sacred Tree.
Before get your knickers in a knot about 2012 being the end of the Mayan calendar, and maybe even the end of our world, remember all the fuss around Y2K? A lot of survivalists were embarrassed, and some were probably quite disappointed when the clocks turned to 12:01 AM on Jan. 1, 2000... in fact, on the surface of it, the year 2000 was quite unremarkable in terms of significant events. Still, look closer... while there was no obvious crisis to get so excited about, there was certainly a lot going on under the surface. For example, this was the year that gas and oil prices began to rise noticeably, along with the solar activity. As psychics we had already begun warning of terrorist attacks on home turf and the possibility of a signficant world conflict. As it turned out, Bin Laden and his henchmen were indeed busily preparing to force a new round of fear on the world.
My point is that while the Y2K scare was just a lot of hype, there were some remarkable energies at work, coalescing in some very real global tragedies in the years since. The year 2000 produced the first obvious signals that there might be some truth to the prophesies... for many, the inner senses were clear, this year marked the countdown to Dec 21, 2012, said to be the end of the Mayan calendar, prophesied by many as the "End of Times".

Hi Danielle! One thing about the whole Y2K phenomenon (a lot of hype, but nothing occured): There was a pile of work that went into fixing the problems that would have occured should those things ("Y2K Bugs") not have been fixed... All of the hype was about aging databases using 2 digits to store the date (so 99 would be 1999, and 00 would be 1900), instead of 4. Millions of dollars were invested in combing through the old programs, changing the systems to use 4 digits for the dates. Most people miss that altogether, and assume that even though all that work was done, it didn't make a difference because nothing happened. Sounds silly, doesn't it? -Corey

So what does this really mean, "the end of times'?
When I look ahead, I don't see Planet Earth imploding on itself in 2012... and I don't think that mankind is doomed to extinction on that date, nor that we will all face a mass day of judgment. But I would be in serious denial if I didn't notice that serious change was upon us, and that as a species we are more at risk now than perhaps ever in our history. "Something" is going on. The planet itself is shfting positon, the magnetic poles are shifting, the polar ice caps are melting . Al Gore's wake up call in "An Inconvenient Truth", is long overdue... The media is running public service ads now in Canada suggesting that we need to prepare our survival kits at business and at home to be able to sustain ourselves for at least 48 hours should there be a mass power outage. For the first time in my lifetime, there is the feeling that the environment might pose a far greater threat than any world war might.
Change is being forced upon us, whether we want it - or know it- or not... The red flags are flying tall and strong in almost every nook and cranny on the planet. Those who have been sleeping through this transition have little choice but to awaken and prepare. But for what, and how?
I believe that the Mayans understood, as few other races have, the cycles of change that run through time... and also that they had a deep understanding of human nature... they could see that our way of life would evolve at such a pace that we would put our world as it existed at great risk, and that there could come a "fork in the road", a moment in time, beyond which events could not be predicted... telling us that we have a choice in this time. Dec 21, 2012, could very well mark the end of the world as we know it. This date marks a turning point - a time when we can't predict what will happen, - a time when it is up to us to decide what direction to take and what our future world will look like.
It is not surprising to me that our governements are urging us to have our survival kits at the ready... powerful destructive forces are at work now, the very face of the planet is changing, and with it, our way of life. By Dec 21, 2012 these forces may be at their peak, the winds and waters will roar and we will be challenged as never before to create anew... a new way if working with our environment, a new way of being with each other, new ways of life. The bible speaks of this time as the opening to the Golden Age... let us pray. It is up to us to bring it on.
A most exciting moment in mankind's history!
So, if the Mayans were right and we're nearing the end of the 13th long count cycle, what can we do to make this a relatively easy transtion, to ensure that we're around to participate in the next long count cycle?
I believe there are two signficant strategies that we each can adopt in our personal and business lives to shift the tide from dark to light as we move towards the 2012 "deadline".
1. Go Green... Think about the ways you can conserve our resources. Be conscientious about turning out lights, recycling whatever you can. Avoid using chemicals. Get back to nature in every way possible. Plant a garden, grow some of your own food. Think global, buy local... Get involved in protecting our water supplies, preserving all life on the planet. Attend to the needs of our trees and plants, insects, birds and animals. Imagine what 6 billion people could do if we all focused on saving our lives and the planets'!
2. Love... Be loving in all of your thoughts and actions. Avoid judgment. Live fearlessly. Laugh a lot! Find little reasons to be joyfuil, and grateful. Be graceful. The more love we generate on the planet, the more light we can attract around us, the more likely this can be an easy shift.
The Mayan calendar documented the many cycles within cycles. The wise ancients who created the calendar ended it when they saw a definitive conclusion to one of the many larger cycles of our evolution, the moment when when they could clearly see the power shifting. 2012 is the turning point, the birth of a new calendar... and it is up to you and me to create it. in love and light. 2012 heralds am exciting new beginning here on planet earth - and probably the entire universe.
Here's another tidbit I had come across in my readings... If the progression of technology stays the same as it has been up to this point, during the last 30 minutes of 2012, we should have 18 discoveries as significant as the atomic bomb. Our Visitors Ask...
I had 2 dreams recently about tidal waves. One was about a month ago. I had this very vivid dream that I was at my grand mothers house and I was standing in the front garden. I was looking out to the horizon and then I saw it coming, fast and furious, an enormous tidal wave was coming in from the coast and heading straight for us. I ran inside, grabbed my grandmother and dragged her up stairs. Before doing so I locked all the doors and windows downstairs. I told her what was going on and to look out the window to see for herself. She remained very calm and looked really quite pleased about it all, in contrast to myself - I was so shocked and horrified, I could not believe this was the end. The dream ended there and I'm not sure if we survived it or it ended before the waves hit us.
So then the next day I went to work, and I picked up the news paper on my way there. One of the headlines was about the 2012 polar shift predicted by the Mayan race thousands of years ago, aka. the Orion prophecy. This article came out of the blue and I had never heard of this 2012 theory before, ever and also end of times theories were the furthest thing from my mind before having this dream. I did some research on 2012 and read about the natural disasters that will occur as a result of the polar shift, like super volcanoes, tsunamis, hurricanes and earth quakes. I'm still unsure whether I believe this 2012 theory or not. I just don't know and I don't know if my dream was a premonition or not. I am always conscious of getting carried away with myself! I have a tendency to believe in the extraordinary and the super natural!
Just when I had completely forgotten about 2012 and the end of civilization, I had another dream 2 nights ago. It was another gigantic tidal wave and again very vivid. I was at a beach somewhere, I don't know where, but it was a dull, dark day and everything seemed grayish brownish. There were lots of people in the water, enjoying themselves, seemingly without a care in the world. I could not relax and felt very anxious and extra alert. I was there with my mother and my younger brother and sister. Suddenly the tide began to go out very very quickly. I knew immediately what was happening, and though I could not see it yet I knew there was a wave coming but had not reached the horizon yet. I was so shocked and frightened. I started screaming at everyone to run for their lives, I was
> pushing people and dragging people out of the water. People were giving me strange looks until I turned to look out to sea and saw the wave and started pointing until they all looked around. They started moving pretty quickly after that! After they had all scarpered. I was left with my mother, brother and sister. We were running for our lives too but somehow we could move only very slowly, it was frustrating and scary. I was in a complete panic. I kept looking out to sea. Suddenly, the wave crashed down out at sea and then the sea went calm again. My family relaxed again and wanted to get back into the water but I knew the calm was only temporary and I was still in panic mode and set on getting as far away and as fast as possible. The dream ended there.Two days later (yesterday) I met a guy through one of my friends. He is a hypnotherapist. At this stage I had forgotten about the dream and 2012 until this guy was talking about future life progression and people describing their previous lives that were in the future. He said it has happened many many times around the world that hypnotists have encountered these people who have lived in the future. He also said that a lot of them mention 2012 as being a big date for change in consciousness as a result of a big disaster.
I don't know, but this 2012 thing keeps popping up in my life all the time recently, just when I have forgotten about it. There was an ad for a discovery channel documentary recently about the sun spot cycle (which is what the Orion prophecy is based on) and the devastation it will cause on earth. I don't know if these are signs/warnings or am I just going completely batty altogether!!! hahaha! Like I said I do let my imagination run away with itself sometimes! Martha
