One of the strongest themes we found as we looked into the energy of 2005 was a focus on "truth" and with it a rising interest in the metaphysical and spiritual realms.  

The focus on truth seems to translate into numerous challenges... public scandals over the truth for example of how some major charity mishandled relief funds... churches being challenged to stretch over the issue of gay marriage... individuals questioning the belief systems that drive their communities, fans challenging their idols to go beyond the superficial... the public challenging government 'spin doctors"... we are learning to demand truth, to recognize untruths, and to expect more from our leaders.

We believe that one of the most significant ways that we will see this quest for truth play out is in the public demand for more and more accurate information about what is happening to our environment. As the poles melt and water levels rise, the winds increase speed, and the earth shakes, quakes and spills its guts, the public outcry will be enormous... not only the demand for help, but the demand for truth, for scientific information that spells out what we can expect and what we can do to help ourselves.

In Numerology, 2005 is a "7" year, a year of mysteries - and spiritual growth, a year when small slights can escalate into major military action, a year of increased restlessness but now turned inwards. "7" is about the search for truth, insight and wisdom. "7" is social, charming, yet mysterious, secretive... introverted. 

In a "7" year, we can expect research and science to come out of the closet with some significant revelations that could benefit all of mankind... and also new laws to be announced  that make it easier for the police to respond to civil unrest. While 2005 may not be a good year to tie the knot in a marriage or partnership, it should be a wonderful year for romance.... and we should see an increased interest in spiritual matters world-wide...

On the downside "7" is also mysterious and secretive - meetings behind closed doors -  apparent peace, but motives are hidden, often dark. Secrets come to the surface and partnerships are strained as a result.

A great year to sit tight....

We having been talking for years it seems of "the coming shift" - this year the shift is no longer coming, the future is here. The shift - it is upon us... by the end of 2005 there will be no overlooking the fact that the world is changing under our feet....

We see this year as the beginning of a 7-year cycle of tribulation that peaks in 2007 and ends in 2012... the understanding of what to expect in these times was given to me in a series of visions beginning in the late 1980's... we are right on target... let the fun begin!!!! About our process: Every year, the process of producing our annual predictions begins well before the year ends... so often we get valuable  insights on the coming period through the readings we do in the last months of the year. Then in the first few weeks of the new year, Mary-Anne and I get together to lay out our readings. We use a number of different tools, including the Russian Gypsy Fortune Teller Cards, our own decks, Runes, angel cards, or whatever comes up... As we share what we see in each of our readings, a quite complete and cohesive picture is produced. When we have finished taking notes from our cards, we "spin the globe", literally.  Where the globe stops, we focus for a second to notice what will pop out at us. I then take all of our notes and prepare them for posting... as I tap into our work and the universal mindstream on which we draw for the predictions, new insights or more detail may arise. The Summary - in the News in 2005

This year, the Russian Gypsy Fortune Teller Cards were the most productive in terms of identifying the key tones and some of the significant events of the year.  Since the reading had a clear flow to it, I've summarized our predictions with that specific reading. The question I focused on as we prepared the deck was "what will be in the news around the world in 2005, what key events will take our attention?" This is what the cards delivered in response and how we interpreted the symbols we were given.

Fish – plenty, a focus on the spiritual life

• The synergistic combination of physical and spiritual -  "Man does not live by bread alone" – folks becoming dissatisfied with the material, people who had until now seemed unlikely to seek a spiritual life look at redefining values this year  
• Success on or in the water – a great contribution to humankind - science could produce a magnificent innovation around purifying water... or this could also speak to the need to bring fresh water to those in desperate need...
• A change in motion, shifts in direction – water currents 
• Perhaps a change around the pope… “Having made too bold a step, you'll back off… indications of an Iran withdrawal…. Not the right time for action…Folks rethinking committed plans at last minute, questioning beliefs…
• A year of controversy over truth, scandals rising to the surface, truth rising up…

Bridge - ability to change our circumstances, 

• A radical change in lifestyle for some… the sense of having finished school and getting down to work… the old life is over… some folks don't like it, cling to the past, resent the new obligations and responsibilities “A moment in time suspended” – a period of idleness – confusion when we realize we are now on the bridge – and the road back has closed…

• I would say that this is a year when mudslides, avalanches, floods and fires may block key bridges in major cities around the world… a rash of “bridges out” due to high water… bridgeworkers kept very busy this year!!!

Ring – commitment or promise of two people in a lasting relationship 

• An important wedding, Charles and Camilla? Trump?
• An agreement for peace, perhaps in the Middle east – but a strong warning to beware the peace makers this year, this will be a false peace.  Buying time.

Fire – Beware of fire 

• Deluge or drought seems to be the theme for weather conditions world-wide – and drought means fire… we see this again in Australia, but also in western North America, Europe, China and Russia.. 
• Explosive energy here... explosions, a nuclear accident, perhaps in Korea?
• volcanic eruptions around the Ring of Fire?
• Rising passions, civil war, passionate reactions to what might appear to be small slights… a year when we must learn to control our passions…
•  A public scandal, a marriage that immediately flounders… passion that brings more harm than good
• nrealistic ambitions – fitting with the Rooster energy this year….  

Ring of Fire – a clear message in this reading with the Ring symbol immediately followed by Fire... we were already concerned about the activation of the Ring of Fire, have been speaking of this in our predictions for several years, so its clear appearance in this reading affirmed that the energy is in motion here - expect more activity within the first six months of the year… New Zealand, Japan and California could be among the next centers of activity here.

Bread – “Having received something yourself, do not forget those surrounding you” – a clear need for the “haves” of the world to be charitable, to care for the have nots… this seemed to underline the sense of deluge vs drought this year - some parts of the world, eg Western Canada, will find that harvests are significantly up - while others starve...

Clover – Happiness, fulfillment, something good comes together by pure chance…     The Horseshoe symbol that came up later in the reading emphasized the possibility of some great good fortune befalling someone, something - or perhaps all of us in 2005... with the focus on spirituality this year, I have to ask if this might mean that there is a grand awakening of some kind, a moment of Cosmic Consciousness for all of Mankind, or a First Contact???

Heart – merriment, gaiety, a good year for romance and socializing

• a sense of the entertainment industry being involved in fund-raising a lot… a growing commitment to another value - sharing… “when you love someone you are vulnerable to pain"… a willingness to share others' burdens Learning to look at the whole picture, what looks bleak will pass… what it is and what it appears to be are 2 different things... a message to have heart in the face of catastrophe, there is purpose in it.     
• Our prayers are being answered, but are we ready – be careful what you ask for…

Money – an unexpected pleasant windfall… or unexpected work… 

• the need for Aid is  experienced as a windfall by some…  
• a strengthening of the world economy - reducing debt, US manufacturing improving, an invention that benefits all and could produce a "windfall" income for the producers, a new "find" of some valuable resource

Lily - unearthly happiness, pure joy of being alive, an almost spiritual feeling of happiness… 

• the sense of a lot of death… pushing us to redefine happiness and wealth.  
• the sense also of a lot of near-death - folks reacting to narrow escapes with a new resolve to embrace life with love and compassion

Cat - You will unexpectedly be badly scratched, verbal attacks, avoid provoking conflict this year… 

• uninvited guests, refugees
• Boorish acts that irritate people – also seen as a strengthening of grass roots initiatives to stop crime.

Horseshoe – good fortune, a message of hope, an invention that brings us good fortune

• Here we sensed something special - grounding of the light energy, innovation in thought, requires effort…. Don't be afraid of ideas that seem different or innovative... 
• and we were concerned about a lost opportunity to help ourselves, an invention that is squashed, "back-burnered" for all of the wrong reasons.

Apple – an unpleasant meeting or encounter, a run in with a neighbour - “It only takes one bad apple…” a neighbour with a bad attitude… Canada/US relations break down once again???

“Don't listen with your ears, but with your feet.” - The year for us to take action, one by one...

The drive for truth and spiritual growth at this time bodes well for us.  We are becoming more compassionate and considerate, more willing to take responsibility for our thoughts and feelings, more willing to express Love, and to take heartfelt action.   The more loving energy we put out, the more likely it is that we can enter a Golden Age. But for now, the time of the tribulation is upon us... we must be brave and strong in the face of massive environmental calamities. And we must continue to love, to put aside our judgments, our differences and to learn to embrace our enemies with understanding and unconditional love.

Let us Pray... for a Loving Peace, a global prosperity. In Peace and Love, we prosper.

General Trends  

The Big Stories for 2005

Bush behaving as the emperor, relationship between the UK and the US becomes strained, early spring and then again in fall. A woman in mourning – a serious threat to Bush, or perhaps this is about the death of Bush senior, again seems to be in the early part of the year.

Pulling out of Iraq... but... it seems clear that Iran is the next focus after Iraq. Activity there by early summer.

Osama Bin Laden could be found this year, perhaps quite by accident, or forced out of hiding by a health emergency. Water levels rising, coastlines worldwide in danger... another tsunami perhaps before March, maps changed forever...Aid flowing everywhere… and some scandal around aid...

A female leader arises… a Middle Eastern woman – an “average” woman who rises to a position of global leadership… a Gandhi like person with a “5-point program” that can truly help… understands her people and understand how to lead in making change in ways that will be acceptable…

Following a money trail, embarrassing revelations around the royal family???

Radical awakening – destructive forces at work – the Tower – another significant terrorist attack averted? – fear continues.

And environmental disaster – toxic spill... on or affecting our drinking water…

Michael Jackson, “done” – could have his children taken away... my Mother always said "where there's smoke, there's fire"... there's been too much smoke around Michael for too long. A strong sense of a serious breakdown around him... the loss of his legal case could result in a mental breakdown... but we see this affecting many who have supported him, most especially Elizabeth Taylor, a feeling that all are "tarred by the same brush" somehow tarnished by their support... the entire Jackson family suffers from this.  

Drug scandals in sports, baseball especially will become a serious issue for some athletes, legal action stemming from... .

Rumblings of new energy sources this year, perhaps some innovation using water to produce energy will gain some serious attention.

Economically

Gas prices hold at higher levels, and then continue to rise later in the year…  

Europe continues to gain strength economically, the EEC proves effective, despite minor disputes between the partners... however this year one of these could be left to brew just a little too long and cause some serious trouble later.

The entertainment industry suffers some... a growing disillusionment with the celebrity icons.. a good year for a great mystery. Money is somewhat easier this year... . the manufacturing sector seems to pick up speed in the US.... but beware... aid organizations and insurance companies are taking on heavy losses or expenses this year... the demand for help becomes a tremendous global outcry, from so many sources that we run the risk of becoming jaded in our responses.

Despite the manipulations around the gold and silver markets, we continue to recommend these as the safest investment over the next few years. This is also a good year for investing in resources, and in health innovations, technology - yes, it's back, and of course - although we can't recommend them as investments, there will be a lot of activity around anything to do with homeland security and the military. Heavy Metals, mining.

Health:  

I am very concerned that we could find ourselves facing another global SARS-like epidemic late this spring. The sense of global plagues and pestilences.... AIDS victims increasing in numbers... 

A carryover from last year appears to hold again this year: "The good news is that this could be the year for some exciting announcements in the field of medicine... some real breakthroughs showing here... perhaps as a result of alliances or partnerships that are formed.... some of these seem to have a direct impact on us in our homes and personal relationships."

The Environment

We predicted a global disaster of huge proportions, tsunamis and grand-scale storms, hurricanes for 2004... but that will all seem like the warm-up, once the earth gets moving in 2005 through the next seven years...  

The major issue this year will be deluge or drought - floods and fires... mudslides along the coastlines, bridges closed permanently because of the too-rapid rise of rivers and bays.... and then fires that ravage whole forests and towns... explosions resulting from earth shifts, volcanic eruptions... another year for Mount St Helens to let off some steam, perhaps......Hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean at unheard-of levels... Indeed!

California is deluged in the rainy seasons, burnt out in the hot seasons... this could be the year of the great earthquake, huge chunks of the coast line dropping off... and on the east coast, repeated storms force people inland time and again.

We also see problems in the Mediterranean Sea related to rising water levels, storms and flooding along the coastline, temperatures continue to be cooler than normal.In the Pacific, we saw two key "currents" - a  flow of energy from NW of Hawaii over Japan, Korea, and the China coast… water disturbances… a second flow from Antarctica across New Zealand to India again, water disturbances showing, coastlines broken down… islands flooded... lands lost forever, and new lands rising...

Again from last year, but still showing strong - Activity – underwater volcanoes?- around the Murray Fracture, NE of Hawaii – a large wave forms… and the odd sense that Hawaii rises, gains more land mass...

Around the World  - Hot Spots

Africa eating itself alive… as an analogy, massive death – the sense of an image of the death of civilization – the feeling that in the birthplace of civilization, the world is showing us what we have produced…  a continent in the thores of death - and rebirth...Iran appears as the next focus for the Bush regime's war-mongering. We sense that this is building up for action early in the summer... it will not be so easy... allies cannot support this action...

Beware the peace-makers this year, especially in the Middle East... a false peace, short-lived at best.

Except for the southernmost countries - Chile and Argentina suffer serious environmental setbacks at this time, coastlines eroding, too much rain - most South American countries continue to be generally gaining strength, people feeling more secure.  The people are taking back their power, frustrated with the drug lords, and we see a stronger sense of social activism here, a resourcefulness in finding practical solutions – but the healing process is slow… a need for persistence and perseverance… commitment. There could be another terrible disaster around the Amazon this year - a warning to stop the rape of our rain forests..

Philippines is a hot spot… known now, as we have predicted for some time, as a hotbed for terrorist activity… could produce a powerful strike in Japan... the planet could decide on the need for cleansing here... the Ring of Fire could activate here later in the year..  

Russia, glorifying the past, walking away from violence… secret violence – evidence of, a revelation... Russia seems to be isolating itself again., another violent attack, could be in April, again involving mothers and their children, a nasty business… Weather is becoming a serious issue in Russia… rocks are bare that have never seen sun before, the sense of mountains not as high, trees disappearing… extremely high winds… losing chunks of the far North

China – citizenry educating themselves, an economic drive, but a very secretive society, a bit stuck between capitalist and communist models, struggling with a cultural definition of itself. Water – pollution and also flooding - a serious problem – the sense of refugees from China….

Someone poisoning the air or water – the feeling of fish jumping out of the water – a red sea...

India still reeling from the tsunami that we predicted would cause grand-scale environmental destruction in 2004, gets hit once again... in fact, there may not be many parts of the globe this year that escape the extreme weather conditions. Yet we see India also gaining strength, a stronger voice in global affairs, a strengthening economy, greater social awareness... the sense of a "gift from India" this year... a prophecy fulfilled, an idea that works for all...

The poles are melting, Antarctica is revealing itself, water levels rising affecting especially those in the far north and far south... New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Chile and Argentina, Russia, Alaska, Canada and all of the Scandinavian countries will be experiencing dramatic weather and climate changes this year, unusual flooding on the coastlines because of the rising water levels and extreme rainfall in some areas.

The Conclusion

The best news for 2005 is the sense a spiritual awakening... the feeling that the shift is in motion.... That makes me happy...   Now, more than ever, we urge folks to stay home, in the deepest sense possible, tend to your inner work, to your families and communities... The more loving energy we put out one by one, the more likely it is that we can enter a Golden Age. While the tribulation may be upon us, so also is the possibility for a more loving world.Let us Pray...  In Love, we prosper.
