Essential Healing with Oils

Aromatic oils have been used for nearly a thousand years to relieve pain, care for the skin, alleviate tension and fatigue and invigorate the entire body. Of the many brands currently available to the discriminating nose, some will appeal to your olfactory senses, while others may remind you of an awful tasting or smelling medicine that you were forced to take in childhood "for your own good". As an adult getting involved with aromatherapy, perhaps for the first time, all these memories and factors come into play. I have personally tested the following oils, using only my nose and intuition.
Sensation
This is a blend containing Ylang Ylang, Rose, citrus and other oils. Use it on the wrists, particularly the left wrist, because our pulse helps connect our heart to our spirit. In general, Sensation is good for insecurities and gives assistance when facing difficult situations, or difficult people. Before the meeting, create a win-win outcome by putting a drop on your heart chakra, while sending positive energy to the other person. Like a laser, this positive action will virtually warm their heart and help them mellow out. Sensation affects the third eye and, by doing so, nurtures self-acceptance. This blend is also excellent for doing inner-child work. Diffuse it, or scent lotions for massage.Thieves
A blend of cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, rosemary and other oils, Thieves acts like a strong elixir for the immune system. It helps repel viruses and bacteria by making the body aware of foreign entities. In other words, Thieves increases the body's awareness of what is good for it and what isn't. Apply to the navel, using a carrier oil because of the high cinnamon content, to revitalize the body's own defense systems. Thieves can be applied to the bottom of the feet without a carrier oil. To overcome addictions, use it in combination with Valor (which we'll cover next time) and Inner Child. It's not unususal for someone who has been molested or abused before the age of ten to leave their body for various amounts of time because the body is no longer perceived as being a safe place to house the spirit. After some time, he or she never fully returns or reintegrates their spirit with their body. This blend helps reintegrate the spirit and the body, and practitioners using shamanistic soul retrieval will find it particularly useful. Because Thieves is potent, it can successfully be used in combination with various techniques to remove entities, crystal implants, parasites and treat yeast-like fungus, such as candida.Christmas Spirit
This blend of orange, cinnamon and other oils, Christmas Spirit is one of my favorite oils. I use it frequently to assist client's inner-child work. So many have lost their natural ability for playfulness, forgiveness, seeing the bigger picture. To quote a No Fear(r) poster I love, "Reality is in Fact Virtual". With the help of Christmas Spirit, a greater appreciation for events that were previously traumatic can be gained, and the focus can be shifted to the learning component instead of the pain incurred. It helps me to overcome the "poor me" syndrome, so common today. If a person using it is ready to learn the spiritual lessons at hand, a wonderful shift in perception can take place and a new, happier perspective toward life can be experienced. As the name suggests, Christmas Spirit is very useful in overcoming the "Holiday blues", regardless of religious beliefs. Combined with Valor, this blend can be a very useful tool in dealing with conscious or unconscious denial. Wonderful when diffused, but use a carrier oil if applying to the skin. Because of its cinnamon content, it is too harsh for direct contact with the skin and will be uncomfortable.
We really enjoy these oils and hope you will, too!

PRECAUTIONS
Essential oils are very strong and certain precautions should be taken in their use:
Store all Aromatherapy products in a cool, dark place, separate from homeopathic medicines. Once a carrier oil base has been opened, use within three months.
Keep essential oils well away from eyes.
Keep all bottle caps tight - essential oils evaporate quickly.
Keep all essential oils safe and out of the reach of children. Neat essential oils may be hazardous to children.
Do not take neat essential oils internally, by mouth. Certain publications encourage this practice - Nelson & Russell do not advocate this.
Do not use the oils for extended periods.
If you are prone to sensitive skin always ‘patch' test any preparation you may make. Do not use undiluted essential oils on the skin.
If you are ill, or suffering from high blood pressure or epilepsy, or if you are pregnant, before using any essential oils, consult a qualified medical practitioner.
